How it actually started
Our founder, Paul, was learning Portuguese when he noticed something most students never think to look for: how much of his tutor's week disappeared into things that had nothing to do with teaching.
Maria, his tutor, was brilliant in every lesson. But between sessions, she was doing unpaid admin: rescheduling, invoicing, writing lesson notes, chasing payments across three different apps. None of it showed up on her invoice. All of it showed up in her evenings.
Paul started asking other independent tutors the same questions. The answers kept rhyming. The problem was never the tutors. It was the system built around them, one that took a cut of their income and gave almost nothing back for the hours it cost them.
So we built a different one: a single home for scheduling, lesson planning, payments, and the parts of teaching that platforms usually forget to protect. AI handles the repetitive work after each session: summaries, prep, and the admin trail. The teaching stays entirely, unmistakably yours. And because we don't take a cut of lessons you've already delivered, what you earn is what you keep.
