Group Class Terms & Conditions — Tutors
Last updated: July 2026
These terms apply when you offer a promoted group class on Voilà. By publishing or teaching a group class, you accept them. They add to Voilà's general Terms & Conditions.
1. Your role
- You are the independent provider, seller, and merchant of record for your group class. Voilà is not.
- Voilà is the platform that lists, promotes, and facilitates the class and processes payments on your behalf.
- You are responsible for the teaching, the content, and your compliance with law and tax obligations.
2. Class setup and seats
- You define the session series, dates, seat count (minimum and maximum), price, and your cancellation cutoff (notice window).
- You must honour the class exactly as advertised at the time of enrollment.
- The minimum-seat requirement is enforced from the cancellation cutoff before the first session (your notice window, 24 hours by default) until the first session starts. If enrollment is below the minimum at any point in that window — including when a student cancels after the cutoff — the class does not run and Voilà automatically issues affected students a full refund with the platform fee reversed. Once the first session starts, the class is confirmed and you are committed to deliver the whole series; it is not cancelled if enrollment later drops below the minimum.
3. Payments and fees
- Students pay up front through your connected Stripe account. As merchant of record you receive the funds directly.
- Voilà retains a 15% platform fee (application fee) on each enrollment; you keep the remainder.
- You are solely responsible for taxes, invoicing, and any statutory consumer obligations to your students.
4. Cancellations and refunds
- Refunds are automated by Voilà based on the cancellation cutoff you set — you do not issue them manually from Stripe.
- When a student cancels, each still-upcoming session cancelled before your cutoff (or within 24 hours of purchase) is refunded pro-rata to the student, and Voilà reverses its 15% fee on the refunded amount — you are not out of pocket for the fee.
- Sessions cancelled after the cutoff, and sessions already delivered, are not refunded — you keep that revenue.
- When you remove a student or cancel their session, their upcoming sessions are refunded automatically (fee reversed), regardless of the cutoff.
- Refunds draw from this class's payment on your connected account; keep sufficient balance so refunds settle promptly.
5. Delivery and attendance
- You must run every scheduled session on Voilà. You agree to use Voilà for these class meetings.
- Be on time, prepared, and deliver the advertised content for the full series. Once the class has met its minimum and the first session has started, you are committed to teach every remaining session even if enrollment later drops below the minimum.
- If you cancel a session or the class, Voilà automatically refunds affected students for the impacted sessions (fee reversed).
- If you deliver the class on Google Meet or Microsoft Teams through your connected calendar, all enrolled participants are added to a shared calendar invitation, which can expose each participant's email address to you and to the other participants on that invitation. Students are asked to consent to this in the student group class terms, but you remain responsible for handling participants' personal data lawfully.
- If you are unable to deliver a session due to illness, emergency, or other circumstances beyond your reasonable control, notify your students as soon as possible and, where possible, offer to reschedule or arrange your own substitute. If you cancel the session instead, it will be refunded to affected students automatically per Section 4. A single such cancellation within a class series does not count against your delivery commitment; a pattern of repeated cancellations, regardless of stated reason, may be treated as a failure to deliver under Section 8 (Suspension and termination).
6. Promotion by Voilà
- Voilà agrees to advertise and promote your class at its discretion (including paid ads and landing pages).
- Voilà makes no guarantee of enrollment numbers, revenue, ad performance, or that the class will fill or run.
- Ad spend, targeting, creative, and whether to keep promoting a class are Voilà's decisions.
7. Conduct and compliance
- Behave professionally and lawfully with students at all times.
- Provide accurate class descriptions, pricing, and policies — no misleading claims.
- Do not divert promoted-class students to off-platform payment or delivery for the same class.
8. Suspension and termination
Voilà may pause, retire, or remove a promotion, and may suspend your access, if you breach these terms, harm students, or fail to deliver. Voilà may also stop promoting any class at any time.
