Notepad
The Notepad is a private workspace for students to take notes, review AI-generated lesson summaries, and view lesson schedules created by their tutor.
Accessing the Notepad
Go to Notepad in the sidebar. The Notepad is available when you have an active tutor relationship. If you work with multiple tutors, you have a separate notepad per tutor.
Private Notes
Write personal notes using the rich text editor:
- Format text with headings, bold, italic, lists, and links.
- Notes are saved automatically.
- Notes persist across sessions — use them as a running notebook for vocabulary, grammar rules, or personal reminders.
Your private notes are completely private — your tutor cannot see them. Similarly, your tutor has their own private notes about you that you cannot see.
AI Lesson Summaries
After each recorded lesson, Voila generates an AI summary that appears in your Notepad. Each summary typically includes:
- Topics discussed — what the lesson covered
- Vocabulary — new words and phrases introduced
- Grammar points — structures practiced
- Corrections — mistakes you made with explanations
- Suggestions — vocabulary expansion, extra content, and light practice ideas
Summaries are also sent to you by email after the lesson.
Lesson Schedule
If your tutor creates a published lesson schedule using the AI Lesson Schedule Builder, it appears in your Notepad. The schedule shows:
- A multi-session plan with topics and objectives for each lesson
- Activities and focus areas per session
- A visual overview of the learning path
Lesson schedules are created by your tutor and updated as your learning progresses. See My Students for how tutors build lesson schedules.
